Miami Apparel Founder Guide: Trade Shows, Coworking, Showrooms
Miami anchors the global swimwear calendar with Swim Week in late May, drawing buyers to SwimShow and Cabana at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Year round, the Wynwood arts district hosts coworking at The LAB Miami and Mindspace, while the Design District concentrates luxury retail showrooms. The NW 20th Street wholesale corridor serves regional boutique buyers. Art Basel in December brings fashion brand activations citywide.
Miami has become the default meeting point for swimwear, resortwear, and lifestyle apparel brands in the Americas. The late-May trade show calendar draws thousands of buyers, while year-round infrastructure in Wynwood and the Design District supports founders building brands from the city.
This guide covers what actually exists for apparel founders working in or visiting Miami in 2026.
Apparel trade shows in or near Miami
The main event is Miami Swim Week, which runs late May through early June. Two flagship B2B shows anchor the week:
SwimShow takes place May 30 through June 1, 2026, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Running since 1982, it draws more than 7,500 buyers, manufacturers, and press from over 60 countries. The 2026 edition debuted the CURVE Capsule, a partnership with the intimate apparel trade show CURVE, creating cross-category discovery between swim and lingerie.
Cabana Show runs the same dates at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Categories span swimwear, resortwear, accessories, RTW, lingerie, jewelry, activewear, and footwear. Hours run 10am to 6pm Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday.
Both shows are trade-only. Buyers need credentials.
Regional shows
Trendz Show in West Palm Beach is Florida's largest women's apparel and accessories show. Organized by Florida Fashion Focus, it runs four times per year: January 4 to 6, April 19 to 21, August 30 to September 1, and November 1 to 3 in 2026. The show serves Southeast and Caribbean retailers and is held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
Miami Fabric Show takes place March 4 to 5, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport & Convention Center. Textile professionals, designers, and manufacturers gather to review fabrics and materials.
Fashion incubators and accelerators
Miami does not have a dedicated apparel incubator, but several programs serve consumer brand founders.
The LAB Miami in Wynwood is the closest thing the city has to a fashion founder hub. Founded in 2012, it hosts coworking, events, and programming for startups. The monthly Brainfood speaker series, organized with Endeavor Miami, brings in operators and investors. Think Tank Thursday, held the third Thursday of each month, convenes the tech and startup community.
Endeavor Miami runs a non-dilutive scale program for high-growth founders. It is not fashion-specific but has supported consumer brands.
StartUP FIU at Florida International University offers free programming for early-stage founders, including those building consumer products.
500 Global Miami and Techstars Miami run capital-for-equity accelerators with 2 to 4 application cycles per year and 5 to 15 percent acceptance rates. Neither is fashion-specific, but both have backed DTC and CPG companies.
"The LAB has been a staple in the Miami tech scene since the beginning, offering a place for like-minded individuals to work and meet up for events."
Where the apparel scene actually gathers
Wynwood
Wynwood is the creative center. Art galleries, murals, and retail coexist in roughly 1.3 square miles between downtown to the south and the Design District to the north.
Coworking options:
- The LAB Miami at 400 NW 26th Street. The original Wynwood coworking space. Free cold brew from Box Coffee, 24/7 access, parking included.
- Mindspace Wynwood at The Gateway. Daymond John moved his team here. Curated programming, high-end fit and finish.
- Spaces Wynwood Cube. Part of the Regus network. Flexible terms, fast WiFi.
- WeWork Wynwood Garage. Street art on the walls, standard WeWork amenities.
Coffee and food:
- Panther Coffee has been roasting in Wynwood since 2010. The original shop on NW 2nd Avenue is where locals caffeinate before heading to coworking.
- Maman Wynwood is a French-inspired all-day café from Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte.
- Zak The Baker on NW 26th Street makes bread with hand techniques and mills flour on-site. Good for working breakfast meetings.
- Coyo Taco and The Salty Donut are both popular with the neighborhood crowd.
Pop-up retail:
- The Shop Miami is a permanent pop-up space co-owned by Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and stylist Calyann Barnett. It rotates emerging brands and independent designers.
- Wynwood Shop is a curated retail space for local brands across fashion, accessories, and home.
- Storefront lists short-term retail rentals in Wynwood. Mid-size spaces run $150 to $600 per day.
Miami Design District
The Design District is luxury retail. More than 170 brands operate flagship stores, including Chanel, Hermès, Fendi, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. For founders, it is less about coworking and more about retail research, competitor reconnaissance, and client meetings.
Hours are 11am to 8pm Monday through Saturday, noon to 6pm Sunday. ICA Miami and the de la Cruz Collection are both walkable if you have time between meetings.
Miami Fashion District
The wholesale corridor runs along NW 20th Street from roughly 23rd Street to 29th Street. Some 13,000 boutiques source merchandise from distributors here. The Miami International Merchandise Mart, adjacent to the airport, has more than 300 showrooms across 286,000 square feet.
Many vendors require a resale certificate for wholesale pricing, though individual sales are sometimes possible.
Annual events and fashion-week presence
Miami Swim Week
Miami Swim Week, organized under the PARAISO umbrella, is the flagship annual event on the global swimwear calendar. The 2026 edition runs May 29 through June 1. Beyond the SwimShow and Cabana trade shows, the week includes runway presentations, the Hammock trade exhibition, and brand activations across Miami Beach.
The 2026 runway lineup includes headliners Krissy King, Zara Al Fayed, Pia Bolte, and Chung Yuul, with more than 25 designers showing swimwear, resortwear, and ready-to-wear.
Miami Fashion Week
Miami Fashion Week runs separately, typically in late spring. The 2026 edition includes runway presentations and curated industry experiences. It draws a mix of international designers and local talent.
Art Basel Miami
Art Basel Miami takes place the first week of December. Fashion brands use the week for activations and pop-ups.
Recent editions included:
- Spanx partnered with Pantone Color Institute for the Spanx Red Gallery.
- Mana Fashion Art Basel Edition at Mana Wynwood brought together more than 25 fashion and accessory brands for a gallery-style showcase.
- The Gates Hotel South Beach hosted the NADJEA Art Deco Fashion Show with curated resortwear shopping and runway presentations.
"The cabanas became destinations of their own where guests could discover brands, experience products, connect with founders, and spend time."
Local apparel media, podcasts, and newsletters worth following
Brickell Magazine covers fashion, lifestyle, and events for Miami's financial district crowd. Published by TAG Media since 2008, it is distributed to residences and businesses in Brickell.

Showrooms and sourcing fairs
Trade show sourcing
SwimShow and Cabana are the primary sourcing fairs for swim, resort, and lifestyle categories. Both are buyer-credentialed. If you are a brand looking to exhibit, applications open months in advance.
Trendz Show in West Palm Beach serves regional boutique buyers looking for women's apparel and accessories.
Wholesale showrooms
The Miami International Merchandise Mart near the airport houses more than 300 showrooms. Categories include apparel, accessories, and gifts.
The NW 20th Street corridor in the Miami Fashion District has storefront showrooms and wholesale vendors. Magnolia Fashion Wholesale at 1757 NW 20th Street offers a large selection with free parking.
The Design District for luxury
The Design District is not a sourcing district, but it concentrates luxury brand flagships useful for product and retail research. Beyond apparel, design showrooms like Poliform and Holly Hunt anchor the interiors side.
What the Miami apparel scene looks like in 2026
Miami's position as the swimwear capital is secure. SwimShow and Cabana draw global buyers, and PARAISO runways set the seasonal tone. For founders outside swim, the infrastructure is more general. Wynwood coworking spaces, The LAB's event programming, and the Design District retail corridor all support brand building.
The wholesale Fashion District on NW 20th Street serves a different market: regional boutique buyers sourcing volume. For founders, it is useful for understanding how distribution works at scale.
Art Basel in December brings fashion brands into the city for activations, making it a secondary window for networking and visibility outside the May calendar.
Ohzehn works with swimwear and activewear brands sourcing production. If you are building in those categories and want to talk factory options, reach out.
Miami rewards founders who show up during Swim Week and stick around long enough to find the coffee shops where deals actually happen.
