Ohzehn Textiles FAQ: questions buyers ask us

The answers are short. Where the honest answer is "we quote that against your style on a call", we say so and tell you why.
Ohzehn Textiles makes intimates, activewear, swim and basics for brands from our own mill in Fuzhou, downstream of the LFT (Luen Fung Textiles) knitting group. We work cut-make-trim or full package. Minimums, lead times and price are quoted against your style on a call, because fabric minimums and cut-and-sew minimums are different things.

The company
What is Ohzehn Textiles?
Ohzehn Textiles makes intimates, activewear, swim and basics for brands, from our own mill in Fuzhou, Fujian. We sit downstream of LFT (Luen Fung Textiles), the Fuzhou knitting group at lftltd.com, and bring brands into that group. Knitting and finishing, dyeing and an on-site testing lab work as one chain, so a brand can run from fiber to finished garment without buying fabric and cut-and-sew separately.
Are you a factory or a broker?
Not a broker. Ohzehn operates through a group of facilities in Fuzhou that we own or hold ownership stakes in: knitting and finishing, dyeing, and an on-site testing lab. That is what lets us control fabric from fiber to finished garment, dye to our own standards and test in-house. A broker sells you access to someone else's floor. We book mill visits so you can stand on ours.
How is Ohzehn Textiles connected to LFT?
Ohzehn Textiles sits downstream of LFT, a warp-knitting group in Fuzhou, Fujian, and brings brands into that group. LFT designs, knits, dyes and finishes its own fabrics, including wide lace, jacquard, mesh and swimwear fabric, and sells mainly to customers overseas. It was registered in Fuzhou in 2012. Its own site is lftltd.com.
How is the group set up?
Ohzehn operates through a group of facilities in Fuzhou that we own or hold ownership stakes in: knitting and finishing, dyeing, and an on-site testing lab. The group part-owns the testing lab. That is what lets us control fabric from fiber through to finished garment, dye to our own standards, and test in-house rather than waiting on an outside lab.
Who runs Ohzehn Textiles?
Ohzehn Textiles is led by its co-founders: Dougie Taylor, co-founder; Kelvin Liu, co-founder; and JJ Chen, co-founder and Chief Operations Officer. Who works on your program, and where each step of it runs, is something we walk through on the first call, against your style rather than in the abstract.
Where are you based?
Our own mill is in Fuzhou, Fujian, in China. We publish the city, not the street, and we book mill visits for brands that want to see the floor before they commit. We sit downstream of LFT, the Fuzhou knitting group at lftltd.com.
Which brands has your fabric gone into?
Our mill supplies fabric to garment manufacturers producing for brands including Skims, Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Fabric from our mill has gone into garments for the brands on our logo wall, directly and through the garment makers who sew for them. Marks belong to their owners.
Making
What do you make?
Intimates, activewear, swim and basics. That covers bras, underwear, lace, shapewear and sleep; leggings, tops and sports bras; swimsuits, bikinis and swim boxers; tees, rib, loungewear and boxer briefs. We knit on warp, circular and seamless machines, in jersey, interlock, rib, mesh, tricot, powernet, stable-stretch and seamless constructions.
Do you do CMT or full package?
Both. Cut, make, trim: you supply the fabric and we make the garment. Full package: we source or knit the fabric, develop the product and run the program. Full package is where the chain pays off, because the fabric can be built for your garment instead of bought off someone else's shelf and handed to a sewing line.
Can you develop a custom fabric?
Yes, on full package. Because knitting, dyeing, finishing and testing run in one chain, we can change the fabric itself, not only the pattern. That is customization you cannot get when fabric and cut-and-sew are bought separately. Construction, finish and decoration are set against your garment. Minimums for a custom fabric are quoted on a call.
What finishes, prints and seams do you offer?
Finishing: hand-feel finishing. Decoration: sublimation, digital print and screen print. Seams: flatlock, bonded and coverstitch. Each one is chosen for what the garment has to do, not added because it reads well on a hangtag. Tell us the job and we will tell you which it needs.
Minimums, lead times and price
What is your MOQ?
We quote minimums against your style on a call, not on this page. Fabric minimums and cut-and-sew minimums are different things. The fabric minimum comes from the knitting and dye run. The cut-and-sew minimum comes from the style and colour on the sewing side. A single number on a website blurs them. We tell you which is which on the first call.
Why are fabric minimums different from garment minimums?
Because different parts of the chain set them. A knitting machine and a dye bath each need a run long enough to be worth setting up, and that run is measured in fabric. A sewing line sets its minimum per style and per colour, measured in garments. A brand can clear one and miss the other. Knowing which one binds your order changes how you plan the range.
What are your lead times?
Quoted against your style, on a call. Lead time depends on whether the fabric is knitted new for you, the construction, the finish and decoration, how many sampling rounds it takes, and the lab. A number published before we have seen the style would be a guess, and you would plan a season around it. We would rather give you a real one.
How much does production cost?
Price per unit or per yard is quoted against a real style, on a call. It moves with fiber, construction, weight, finish, decoration, trims and volume, so a price table on a website would be wrong for almost everyone who read it. The standard sample and the OHZEHN-TEX™ sample run are the same: both are quoted against your style, on a call or by email.
What do samples cost?
Samples are quoted against your style on the first call. If you want to try OHZEHN-TEX™, our own bio-based fabric, email us and we will quote a sample run against your style. The garment read is free: send us the garment that came back wrong, and we read it in our lab and tell you why.
What should I send to get a quote?
A tech pack if you have one, or a reference garment if you do not. Tell us the category, the fabric you use today and what you want to change. With that we can tell you which minimum governs your style, the fabric or the cut-and-sew, and quote against it on a call rather than off a generic sheet.
Lab and certificates
What does your lab test?
Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes, in a lab the group part-owns. The testing lab is on site, so a batch is tested where it was made instead of waiting in an outside lab's queue. The lab and the dye house have passed major retailer vendor audits.
Is your chemistry PFAS-free?
Yes. PFAS-free chemistry, no fluorinated DWR. PFAS is also on the panel every batch is tested for, alongside BPA, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes. You see the test reports before you commit to a bulk order.
What certifications do you hold?
Our mill holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I. Class I is the strictest product class, the one used for babies' and toddlers' articles. Our mill in Fuzhou also holds completed Higg FEM verification for the 2025 cycle (Cascale, formerly SAC). Each belongs to the mill and is described as the mill's. If a certificate is not named here, we do not claim it.
What does OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Product Class I mean?
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 sorts the textiles it covers into product classes by how they are used. Product Class I is the strictest product class, the one used for babies' and toddlers' articles. Our mill holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I. The certificate belongs to the mill, and we do not stretch it over anything the mill does not hold it for.
What is Higg FEM verification?
Higg FEM is the Higg Facility Environmental Module, a facility-level environmental assessment run through Cascale, formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. Verification means the facility's assessment has been checked. Our mill in Fuzhou holds completed Higg FEM verification for the 2025 cycle (Cascale, formerly SAC). It is a verification of the mill, and we do not present it as a score.
What do you not claim?
We do not publish minimums, lead times, capacity or price per yard; those are quoted against your style. We do not publish facility or machine counts. We name only the certificates on our lab page, each held by our mill. We do not publish a bio-based percentage or performance figures for OHZEHN-TEX™. We publish no case studies or testimonials.
OHZEHN-TEX™
What is OHZEHN-TEX™?
OHZEHN-TEX™ is our own bio-based performance fabric platform: bio-based nylon PA6.10 made from castor oil, with a bio-based stretch fibre made from sugarcane. It has four-way stretch and comes in 180, 220, 260 P and Seamless. It leaves out PFAS coatings, BPA, phthalate and formaldehyde finishes, and antimicrobial silver. It is an option, not a requirement.
Do I have to use OHZEHN-TEX™?
No. OHZEHN-TEX™ is an option, not a requirement. Programs run on the fabric that suits the garment, and the chemical panel runs on every batch either way. If you want to try it, email us and we will quote a sample run against your style. The platform lives at ohzehn-tex.com.
Visiting and getting started
Can I visit the mill?
Yes. Visitors are welcome, and we book mill visits. Tell us who is coming and roughly when, and we will set it up. Standing on the floor before you commit is the quickest way to tell a mill from a broker with a deck, and we would rather you check than take our word for it.
How do I start?
Pick the door that fits. Request a sample. Email us about OHZEHN-TEX™ if you want to test our own fabric. Or send us the garment that came back wrong, and we will read it in our lab and tell you why, free. Minimums, lead time and price follow on a call, against your style.
Ask it on a call, or send the garment.
