T-shirt manufacturer in China, where weight and hand are set at the knit.

A tee is only simple until the reorder feels thinner. Weight, hand and drape are decided when the fabric is knitted and finished, long before a sewing line sees it. We knit the fabric and make the garment, so both decisions stay in the same conversation.

Ohzehn Textiles makes tees and basics tops for brands from its mill in Fuzhou, China: crew tees, long-sleeve tees, henleys and rib tops. We knit jersey, interlock and rib, and on full package weight and hand are set at knitting and finishing, not picked from a swatch book. Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes.

Fit, weight and trims are set against your tech pack or a reference garment, then quoted on a call. Kids' tees and basics run on the same constructions, graded down.

GSM, garment dye and the shrinkage question.

GSM, grams per square metre, is the number that tells you whether a tee is light, mid or heavyweight, and it is set at the knit, not picked from a stock swatch book. A garment-dyed tee that keeps shrinking after the first wash is usually a fabric-relaxation problem: the knit needs to finish relaxed before it is cut, a step a bought-in fabric skips.
Rib knit covers the collar, cuff and hem trims that finish a jersey or interlock tee, and it is also its own garment family: rib tops, tanks, bodysuits, and the rib tanks, leggings and sets some ranges extend into.
A basics bodysuit runs on the same jersey as the tee above it.

A basics bodysuit, built for layering rather than for the gym or the lingerie drawer, runs on jersey or rib with a snap or hook closure at the base. It is a different garment from an activewear bodysuit or a lace bodysuit, same word, different fabric and a different buyer, and we build it on the tee line's own jersey and rib.
Hand-feel finishing, then print, then coverstitch.

Hand-feel finishing is where a tee gets its softness, applied to the knitted fabric before cut and sew. Screen print suits solid colour and graphic marks; digital print suits detailed artwork with many colours. Coverstitch seams finish the hem and the collar so the tee holds its shape wash after wash.
The basics you wear most get the same panel as everything else.

Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes, in an on-site lab the group part-owns. PFAS-free chemistry, no fluorinated DWR.
Our mill holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I. Class I is the strictest product class, the one used for babies' and toddlers' articles. The certificate belongs to the mill, and we do not stretch it over anything the mill does not hold it for.
Big enough to hold those programs. Small enough to take yours.

Our mill supplies fabric to garment manufacturers producing for brands including Skims, Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Your first order can run on fabric from the same floor.
Fabric from our mill has gone into garments for these brands, directly and through the garment makers who sew for them. Marks belong to their owners.

Work cut, make, trim with your own fabric, or full package, where we source or knit the fabric, develop the product and run the program. For a tee, full package is usually where the difference shows, because the fabric is most of the product.

In basics the minimum question usually comes down to colour. The fabric minimum comes from the knitting and dye run, and each colourway needs its own. The sewing side carries its own minimum per style and colour. We quote against your range on a call and tell you which one binds, so you can plan colourways around the real number.
Sample the tee, or send the one that went thin.

Questions about tees and basics tops.
Do you make tees?
Yes. We make tees for brands on jersey and interlock, with hand-feel finishing, screen or digital print, and coverstitch seams. On full package the fabric is knitted and finished for the tee, so weight and hand are set for your garment rather than picked from a stock swatch book. Send a tech pack or reference tee and we quote it on a call.
What GSM range do you knit?
GSM, grams per square metre, is set at the knit for your garment rather than fixed to a stock range, so a lightweight tee and a heavyweight tee both run through the same chain. Tell us the weight your current tee sits at and we will match it or tell you what a change does to drape and shrinkage.
Can you garment-dye without unexpected shrinkage?
Shrinkage in a garment-dyed tee is usually a fabric relaxation problem, not a dye problem: the knit needs to finish relaxed before cut and sew, or it keeps shrinking after the first wash. On full package the fabric is finished for that before it is cut, which is the step a bought-in fabric skips.
Do you make rib tops and tanks?
Yes. Rib tops, tanks and rib bodysuits run on rib knit, with coverstitch or flatlock seams. Rib tanks, rib leggings and rib sets run on the same construction family if your range extends there.
Can you develop a custom fabric for a tee?
Yes, on full package. Because knitting, dyeing, finishing and testing run in one chain, the construction, weight and hand can be set for your garment. That is customization you cannot get when fabric and cut-and-sew are bought separately. Minimums for a custom fabric are quoted against your style on a call.
