A legging lives or dies at the squat test. Recovery, rise and a gusset that does not blow out are decided at the knit and the pattern, not fixed afterward. We knit the four-way stretch fabric and build the garment, so both decisions stay in the same conversation.

Ohzehn Textiles makes leggings for brands from its mill in Fuzhou, China: full length, 7/8, capri, seamless and maternity builds. We knit four-way stretch fabric and finish on flatlock and seamless machines. Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes.
Full length, 7/8, capri and seamless.
Rise, compression grade and gusset are set against your tech pack or a reference legging, then quoted on a call.
| Legging | Constructions | Seams and finishing |
|---|---|---|
| Full length | Four-way stretch, seamless or cut-and-sew | Flatlock seams, gusset panel |
| 7/8 and capri | Four-way stretch, seamless or cut-and-sew | Flatlock seams, hemmed or raw-cut edge |
| Seamless legging | Seamless, knitted as one tube | No side seam, knitted gusset zone |
| Maternity legging | Four-way stretch, wide fold-over or ruched waistband | Flatlock seams, coverstitch waistband |
The gusset and the waistband decide the fit.

A cut-and-sew legging adds a diamond-shaped gusset panel at the crotch, flatlocked in, which is the seam a squat or a lunge finds first if the stitch count is wrong. A seamless legging knits that zone into the tube itself, so there is no added panel and no seam to blow out.
The waistband is its own decision: a folded self-waistband for a lighter compression legging, or a wider bonded or coverstitched panel for a high-rise, high-compression build. We set both against your reference garment before the first sample runs.
Four-way stretch, graded for the squat test.

Leggings run on four-way stretch fabric, which moves and recovers in both directions rather than just lengthwise. Compression grade, the fabric's hand and its opacity under a squat are set at the knit, not fixed with a heavier finish afterward. Tell us the grade your current legging holds and we will match it or tell you what a knit change does to it.
Gym, training, bike and running shorts run on the same build.

Gym shorts, training shorts, bike shorts and running shorts run on the same four-way stretch fabric and gusset construction as a legging, cut shorter and sometimes paired with a 2-in-1 liner built as a second seamless layer inside the outer short. If your range includes joggers or track pants in an activewear weight, tell us on the call; the pattern logic is close enough to a legging's waistband that it is usually a quick add once a program is running.

Our mill holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I. Class I is the strictest product class, the one used for babies' and toddlers' articles. The certificate belongs to the mill, and we do not stretch it over anything the mill does not hold it for.
Big enough to hold those programs. Small enough to take yours.

Our mill supplies fabric to garment manufacturers producing for brands including Skims, Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Your first order can run on fabric from the same floor.
Fabric from our mill has gone into garments for these brands, directly and through the garment makers who sew for them. Marks belong to their owners.

Fabric and sewing minimums are different numbers.
The fabric minimum comes from the knitting and dye run, and it is set per colourway. The sewing side carries its own minimum, per style and colour. A one-colour legging and a four-colour range hit those numbers very differently. We quote against your range on a call and tell you which one binds your order.
OHZEHN-TEX™, if plastic-free fiber is the question.

OHZEHN-TEX™ is our own bio-based performance fabric platform: bio-based nylon PA6.10 made from castor oil, with a bio-based stretch fibre made from sugarcane. Four-way stretch, in 180, 220, 260 P and Seamless. It is an option on a legging program, not a requirement, and the fiber-chemistry side of it lives on ohzehn-tex.com.

Questions about leggings.
Can you match a legging we already sell?
Yes. Send the reference legging or a tech pack and we build rise, gusset and waistband against it. Tell us the compression grade you are trying to hold and we will tell you whether our stretch fabrics get you there or whether the pattern needs a change.
Do you build seamless leggings?
Yes. Seamless leggings knit the garment as a tube with no side seams, which removes the seam a squat test usually finds first. Cut-and-sew leggings use flatlock seams and a separate gusset panel instead. Both run on four-way stretch; which one suits your style is a construction call we make on the first sample.
What's the difference between cut-and-sew and seamless for a legging?
Cut-and-sew pattern pieces are cut from flat fabric and sewn with flatlock seams, including a separate gusset at the crotch. Seamless knits the whole tube on one machine, so there is no side seam to show through and no separate gusset panel to add. Seamless usually costs more per style to set up and suits a core, high-volume style; cut-and-sew is faster to pattern and suits a wider range of fits.
Can you do maternity leggings?
Yes. A maternity legging uses the same four-way stretch fabric with a wider, softer waistband panel built into the pattern, usually a fold-over or ruched build, so the stretch range covers the bump without losing recovery over the rest of the leg.
Do you carry OHZEHN-TEX for leggings?
Yes, as an option. OHZEHN-TEX™ is our own bio-based performance fabric platform, built on castor-oil-derived nylon and a sugarcane-derived stretch fibre, in four-way stretch. It is not a requirement for a legging program; email us about it and we will quote a sample run against your style. The fiber-chemistry side of leggings lives on ohzehn-tex.com.
