Shapewear manufacturer in China, built to hold its shape past the first wash.

Shapewear lives or dies on one number: how much the fabric recovers after it stretches. We knit the powernet that number depends on, build the panel layout around it, and decide the compression level and finish together, on the first call.

Ohzehn Textiles builds shapewear for brands from its mill in Fuzhou, China: shaping briefs, shaping shorts, shaping bodysuits, waist shapers and slips. We knit powernet and stable-stretch, and on seamless machines where the shaping is knitted directly into the garment. Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes.
Shaping briefs, shorts, bodysuits and waist shapers.
Compression zone, panel layout and trims are set against your tech pack or a reference garment, then quoted on a call.
| Garment | Constructions | Seams and finishing |
|---|---|---|
| Shaping briefs and shorts | Powernet, bonded panels | Bonded seams |
| Shaping bodysuit | Powernet, stable-stretch panels | Bonded seams at panel lines |
| Waist shaper | Powernet, hook or pull-on closure | Bonded seams |
| Seamless shaping short | Seamless, compression knitted in | No side seam |
| Slip | Powernet panel, tricot body | Coverstitch hem |
Shapewear is a fabric decision before it is a pattern decision.

A shaping garment's whole job is recovery: stretch out, pull back in, over and over, wash after wash. That comes from the elastane-to-base ratio in the powernet, not from the pattern on top of it. Two shapewear pieces can look identical off the cutting table and behave completely differently after twenty washes, because one was knitted on a powernet built for the job and the other was not.
We knit to the recovery spec your tech pack calls for, and tell you plainly if a lighter, cheaper base fabric will not hold the compression you are selling against.
Knitted-in compression, or panels bonded together.

Bonded construction cuts powernet and stable-stretch into panels and bonds them at the seam, which gives more control over where the compression sits, firmer at the waist, lighter at the thigh, for example. Seamless knits the whole garment as one tube with the compression zones built into the knit pattern itself, so there is no seam line to show under clothing, at the cost of less panel-by-panel control.
A reference garment tells us which one your current line uses, and whether the fit you are chasing actually needs the panel control bonded construction gives you.

Every batch is tested for BPA, PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, formaldehyde and azo dyes, in an on-site lab the group part-owns. PFAS-free chemistry, no fluorinated DWR.
Our mill holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Product Class I. Class I is the strictest product class, the one used for babies’ and toddlers’ articles. The certificate belongs to the mill, and we do not stretch it over anything the mill does not hold it for.
Big enough to hold those programs. Small enough to take yours.

Our mill supplies fabric to garment manufacturers producing for brands including Skims, Victoria’s Secret, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Your first order can run on fabric from the same floor.
Fabric from our mill has gone into garments for these brands, directly and through the garment makers who sew for them. Marks belong to their owners.

Fabric and sewing each carry their own minimum.

A powernet carries a fabric minimum set by the knitting and dye run. The sewing side carries its own, per style and colour. We quote against your style on a call and tell you which one binds your order, before you plan a range around the wrong number.

Questions about shapewear.
Do you make shapewear?
Yes. Shapewear runs on powernet and stable-stretch, or on seamless machines where the shaping is knitted in. Seams are bonded where a stitch line would show through. Tell us what the garment has to hold and where, and we will tell you which construction does it and quote it against your style.
What fabric holds its compression after repeated washing?
Powernet is the fabric most shapewear is built on, chosen for the elastane-to-base ratio in the knit, not just the brand name on the roll. A powernet with too little elastane feels right on the first wear and goes slack by the twentieth. We knit to the recovery spec your tech pack calls for and tell you honestly if a cheaper base fabric will not hold it.
Can you build a shaping bodysuit?
Yes. A shaping bodysuit runs the same powernet or seamless construction as a shaping short or brief, built as one piece with bonded seams at the panel lines. Send a reference garment and we quote the panel layout and compression zones against it.
What's the sampling process?
Send a reference garment or a tech pack and request a sample. If you have a shapewear piece that lost its hold after the first few washes, send that instead. We will read it in our lab and tell you why, before you owe us anything.
